Emma and Isaac // New Zealand Wedding Photographer

A sun filled afternoon wandering the beach with the two loves of your life… You’re best mate and your soon to be newest team member!

Photography has opened my eyes to a lot of things in this beautiful world, but the one that has hit me the hardest, is this moment right here… Growing a little human in your tummy and bringing life into this world. I really do believe that it is the real magic of this life that we get to live.

Emma and Isaac will be holding their little bubba in their arms by now and Im so grateful I got to document this moment for them here. The waiting of anticipation to meet your first child.

Lewis and Amy // Piha Wedding Photographer

Lewis, Amy and I sat down over a coffee at the Piha cafe one afternoon to catchup and chat about their wedding coming up next month. A usual occurrence for me, I love meeting up with my couples to get to know them before locking anything in. This was different tho. I already knew Lewis, him and I attended the same Uni together, for two very different reasons. I was studying the Acting degree, him the Screen Arts degree. The nature of our chosen fields meant that our departments overlapped many times through the course of that 3 years of study as we regularly had to make short films together. So we all knew each other fairly well. This feels like a lifetime ago, but while sitting down chatting with these two I was forced to relive some of the most hilarious and strange moments of my life as we recited to Amy the sheer ridiculousness that was our Unitec days. And man, I forgot so many of the ridiculous things I had willingly put myself through (painting my entire face with clay and covering my hands in latex and being Jesus, just to name a few)

By the end of the meeting my cheeks hurt, tears were streaming down my face and my stomach was cramped from all the laughing. I thought that there wasn’t any possible way I could laugh anymore. That was until the day we did their engagement shoot.

You see I thought the laughter was circumstantial, based around the retelling of embarrassing stories and remembering of our days as young fresh faced “adults” attempting to make sense of the world. Turns out these two are just made of laughter and joy! They claim its their “awkwardness” I reckon its just them being freaking adorable! As always Piha made for the most beautiful backdrop, but it was once again outshined by these two freaking AMAZING humans! I cant wait to celebrate their Wedding in the Coromandel! If there is one thing to be sure of its that it’ll be filled with ALL the laughs!

Kimberley and Matt // Queenstown Wedding Photographer

Kimberley and Matt. Just writing your names makes me so damn happy.

These two absolutely beautiful humans have brought so much Joy into my life this past year! Before I had even met them in person we were all ready as thick as thieves and me and Kim were practically bffls - Sending each other memes and cute dog videos on instagram daily. It was without question that when I finally got to hang with them in Piha on their Engagement shoot that 1. Some magic would be made and 2. that all the lols were to be had. And it didn't disappoint!

I was already so damn excited for their wedding day - A Queenstown ceremony in old ruins, fly up the mountain for photos and a lake side reception wedding day is one way to make a photographer hyperventilate on the spot - But then after hanging with these two I was almost certain that I was going to have a full blown melt down because I was in the most epic beautiful place with the most epic beautiful of people and my heart cant handle the amount of love and joy that was about to go down.

Again - did not disappoint.

It was my first mountain wedding and I'll be totally honest in saying that upon first stepping out of the helicopter I was so overwhelmed by how beautiful it was that I actually had to take a minute to compose myself. But hey, if you ever get used to the immense beauty of being surrounded by giants and your not breathless/speechless/motionless for a few minutes while you adjust to the fact that this is real and you are actually here... there is something seriously wrong with you.

It wasn't just the mountains that took my breath away this day - the whole day from start to finish had me gasping for breath at every turn. But the most amazing part was the people that I was there with.

Kim and Matt Im so grateful to have you as friends - The fact we all went for a hike together on your technical honeymoon a few days after the wedding is so special to me because it really made me realise how much I adore this job for the amazing friendships its brought into my life. I cant wait for more Queenstown hikes, burgers and adventures with you guys! My life is so full with you both in it and I'll never forget this day!
