Recently I registered for an incredible workshop A bit more Soul. I had been wanting to attend this workshop since the start of this year, but always convinced myself that it was out of my reach. Until the other day when I realized that if I want something so much, then somehow, someway I will find a way to make it happen.
In signing up for this workshop and getting inspired simply by thinking about it, It has reminded me of all the things that inspire me, the things that drive me, the things that lift me up and the things that connect me with who I am and what I do.
I wanted to share these with you, so I'll start with this one.
One of the things that has continued to inspire me is this one song / video in Particular. It is Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky in Disney's Fantasia 2000. There is something about this video that resonated with me the very first time I watched and listened to it. I seemed to connect with it in a way I would never expect from a Disney Animation. I'm very excited as I have actually finally started to plan a styled shoot based around it. You can see my Pintrest board of inspiration / ideas for this here. But It doesn't stop there...
It inspires me so much more than a pintrest board or a styled shoot could ever show. For some reason, and I don't know why, every time I watch it, I feel reconnected with why I love photography, who I am, What I want to create and it gives me the determination to do so. The music, the animation, the story, the heart of this animation - It speaks volumes to me, and that no matter what we go through, no matter the damage caused, no matter how dis-heartened, uninspired, drained or lost we feel, there is always hope to rebuild, to renew and to create something even more wonderful with what we have learnt going through the fire. (This all sounds super cheesy, but trust me, take 10 minutes out of your day to just watch and listen and you'll understand)
A Mythical story of Life, Death and Renewal.
There is so much more I would like to share but I will save that for a "What inspired me (Part two)
So, to all of you creatives out there (and by creatives I mean everyone), What Inspires you? I would Love to hear what keeps you doing what you do! What keeps you motivated and Pressing forward!
